Indeed, even though the issues are very different depending on the small and large watersheds in our country, AQUA ! aims to demonstrate the importance of involving committed citizen and local community groups in the development of public water management policies.
Many associations, local authorities, and other local community organizations include in their statutes or objectives better management of water resources as a common asset.
As they receive too little attention despite existing governance tools, AQUA ! is proposing to give them a free voice as part of this consultation, taking into account the issues specific to each watershed and water territory, as identified by the water agencies, but nonetheless in a less restrictive format than the tools available online.
This approach involves comparing the political, regulatory, administrative, and financial framework with feedback from field experiences and user expertise.
