In partnership with AQUA !, the CAUE du Nord hosted a workshop entitled “Water in the Scheldt Watershed, a Heritage Marker and Source of Territorial Interconnections.”
At the heart of the CAUE’s resource center, the fifty or so participants studied maps from different periods in detail, focusing on four territorial focal points: the fortified town of Gravelines, the Saint-Omer marshland, the cross-border Lys River and the twin towns of Comines and Warneton, and the Lille metropolitan area’s southern river corridor.
This was an opportunity to test a highly interactive workshop format after a brilliantly narrated account of water in Hauts-de-France by Benoît Poncelet and Anne Braquet.
