After a workshop held at the CAUE du Nord in Lille for European Heritage Days 2024, AQUA! is setting up shop in Amiens on Friday 12 December to discover the water heritage of this little Venice of Picardy, combining the water gardens of the hortillonnages with the canalisation of the River Somme. Floods or droughts, market gardening, drinking water, water sports… the challenges of riverine life in Amiens are a daily reality.
What happens when the views of experts and academics are confronted with the opinions of citizens and riverine communities? This is the exercise we propose through the creation of a fresco depicting water heritage, in a friendly and interactive format.
PROGRAMME:
Welcome at 2pm at 93 rue du Hocquet (Quai de l’innovation) 80000 AMIENS
2pm – 4pm Introduction to a fresco depicting water heritage through testimonials, discussions and various media (posters, photos, books, objects, comics, poems, films, etc.) on the theme of water and riverside communities.
